So I’m hoping in the next few days to replace the cheap and underpowered router in my home network with a pc running untangle. One great use for old pc’s is using it as a router…with apps such as spiceworks, ipcop, untangle and others just to name a few.
I’m basically doing this because with everything we do on our home network, sometimes it gets bogged down by this underpowered piece of plastic. With streaming, gaming, and other projects done at home, its best to find an inexpensive way to get high performance gear. the router os is free and easy to install. simple to configure, and is all done through web browser, no different than an out of box router.
For a while I have wanted to get involved with Geocaching, and now that I have an android phone with gps capabilities, I believe I will give this a go. Then maybe upgrade to an actual GPS device.

So we finally finished with the bathroom remodel, a new sink, cabinets, mirror, floor tile, and paint job.
